Elda PTO Committees:
Here are the committees that we will be needing help with throughout the year. Together we can make Elda a fun place to learn and make our community closer and stronger!
Teacher Appreciation Committee:
Staff Conference Night Dinners: provide the staff with a dinner on conference nights. Chairperson plans menus and organizes dinners and volunteers to supply food, drinks, etc.
Staff Appreciation Week: provide a week of activities designed to say ‘Thank you’ to the excellent staff working with the students.
Carnival: A fun event that all the students enjoy filled with games prizes and food. This is our BIGGEST fundraiser of the year. This has been moved to May this year.
Fall Fundraiser: help organize and run the fundraiser, collect orders and distribute orders. This will be Yankee Candle.
Winter Wonderland: two day event during school that provides an opportunity for students to purchase gifts for Christmas presents. This is run during school similar to a book fair.
Ram Table (Spirit Wear Table): A selection of various items; umbrellas, bracelets, cookbooks, window clings sold at different PTO functions.
Box Tops for Education/ Labels For Education/ Tyson A+: reward program in which the PTO receives money for the labels collected. Volunteers help count and submit the labels.
Dine to Donate: rewards program in which the PTO receives a percentage of money from receipt totals from restaurant customers. Volunteers obtain receipts, prepares letters and distributes information before date of event.
Student and Family Fun Events Committee:
Rambucks: incentive to participate in Ram Days and other PTO organized events. Students ‘spend’ Rambucks on the first Wednesday of the month at the Ram Store. Volunteers need to cut and laminate the Ram Bucks, and distribute the last day of the month.
Ram Store: the first Wednesday of the month students who have earned Rambucks can spend them. Volunteers needed to set up table and run during lunch the first Wednesday of every month.
Ram Day: students are encouraged to wear any type of Spirit wear. Volunteers help track the class with the most spirit wear every Friday.
Family Fun Events: fun oriented events available to all students and families to promote fellowship and community among the school. Volunteers plan, organize and host the events such as skating parties, movie nights, bowling, Fire and Ice (ice cream social) etc.
Grandparents/ VIP Night: grandparents or another special family member are invited to come to the school with the student to tour the building and meet the staff. Volunteers plan, organize and obtain refreshments for the event.
Accelerated Reader (AR): Reading incentive program used in the classroom by the teachers to help develop reading skills. Volunteers help track students’ levels as well as order and organize gifts and certificates.
Field Day and Kindergarten Fun in the Sun Day: Volunteers work with the staff to plan event and organize parent volunteers as well as cool treats ftoh the students.
Fourth Grade Celebration: End of the year celebration to mark the fourth grade students’ final year at Elda. Volunteers plan and organize food, drinks, games and workers for the picnic.
Red Ribbon Week: Students participate in activities that promote drug and alcohol prevention. Volunteers work with the school counselor to plan this event.
Extra Curricular Activities: this is new and we are in need of someone to help find find fun after school programs for the students. Ideas...camp invention, book club, parent tech class, science olympiad. If you would like more information on what this might involve please contact Anna Johnston, PTO president.
